Viking Invasions

Stretching from the late 8th to 11th century, the Viking invasions stand as a dynamic and impactful chapter in medieval European history. Originating from the Scandinavian regions of present-day Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, these Norsemen, propelled by their iconic longships and navigational prowess, embarked on audacious seaborn raiding expeditions. Beginning with the seminal Lindisfarne Raid in 793 AD, the Vikings launched swift and daring assaults on monasteries, towns, and trading centers, marking the advent of the Viking Age.
